Metal Punching
Metal punching uses the same process as shearing, with a punch and die combination instead of the flat, straight cutting surface. This process can be used to create holes in sheet metal or in metal parts and components, and the holes can be many shapes from traditional round or square to customized shapes and sizes.
Pega 357 provides 33 tons of punching force and can process 50″ x 144″ sheets with a single repositioning cycle. The Pega’s mechanical ram ensures tighter tolerances, extended tool and machine life, superior edge quality and accuracy. It provides a maximum 350 hits per minute, with 200 hits on one-inch centers.
The Pega 357 is a high-volume manufacturer of short-run sheet metal parts. It enables efficient part manufacturing with minimal setup and maximum machine utilization. Its forming capabilities help to eliminate secondary operations. Its hydraulic clutch and brake system ensures consistent and stable punching over long production runs while also reducing noise.
